About Us
HomeJust for Kids, Inc is a non-profit child advocacy center that serves
children and families living in Raleigh, Fayette and Wyoming Counties.
Our mission is to create a safe community for children and families by
preventing and responding to child sexual abuse through teamwork,
collaboration and service. Our staff work as a team with local law
enforcement, child protective services, medical and mental health
professionals and prosecuting attorney's offices. Just For Kids
trained staff interview children in a child friendly environment and provide
this information to the team. This comprehensive, child focused team response results in less trauma and better outcomes for children. Children who disclose abuse are offered counseling and our family advocate works with the family to assure follow up services are in place to support the family.
We have three locations to serve families. Our main office is located in Uptown Beckley, our Fayette County office is located on East Main St. in Oak Hill and we use the Pineville Visitation Center in Wyoming County to interview children.
In addition to providing direct support to the children and families living with the trauma of child sexual abuse, Just For Kids also provides a number of awareness and prevention programs. As the first program in the state to implement the Stewards of Children training, we have trained over 1000 individuals in the seven steps of child sexual abuse, from identification to what you can do in your community to reduce the incidence of sexual abuse.
